Power and Success

Last night Dave brought some great stuff! I am so grateful for the work he put into this message, and I hope you guys took home some scriptures you can use to defeat the enemy!

A couple things you guys need to be aware of coming up.

1. This Sunday we are having student impact interviews at 5pm. So for those who filled out your applications please bring those this Sunday at 5pm. We have a couple of the adult leaders that are coming to help with the interviews.

2. High school Next is this coming Sunday night at 6pm! You will not want to miss this one its going to be pretty awesome. Junior high students we have Next class for you at 9:45am this Sunday morning and Mark is stinking awesome so you don't want to miss that class!

3. May 20th we are having a movie night, I know some people have choir that night but for those who aren't in choir and are looking to do something that night we are going to be watching a pretty funny movie here at the church! If you want to bring your own couch that night you can. We are going to be moving all the seats out of the sanctuary and watching it up on the big screens! So 8pm on May 20th, you should be here.

Party Tonight

Hey there everyone! I am super stoked about tonight. Mainly because tonight will be the first night we have to ourselves again so we can be as loud as we want and no one will get mad! YAHOO!

Also tonight the message and the way we are going to be doing the message is going to be awesome! Tonight we are giving you a ton of time to talk about what we are talking about. We are going to be doing small group inside the message tonight, so we can break things down into bite size chunks so we can really break down what is being said tonight.

I promise you will not want to miss tonight, if you have a practice that gets canceled because of Rain and storms you should come on over to youth group tonight at 6:30pm.

If you want to come early around 6:00pm we have a prayer time that you can be a part of. It is so cool to watch students and leaders pray together before youth group.

I am super pumped to see everyone tonight and hang out!

It's the final countdown!

Hey there everyone, I hope your days are going swimmingly. I super tired today but also excited for this coming Wednesday night.

Here are a couple of things you guys need to be aware of:

1. If you are reading this you are awesome! Just understand that in its entirety.
2. This Wednesday night we are finishing up our Identity theft series with a message on Power! So you will want to be here this Wednesday to hang out, play some awesome games, we might even bust out some "SPIN THAT WHEEL" again, so make sure you are here for a ton of fun!
3. Senior Sunday is May 22nd this year. We have to move it up this year because of a couple other things on our church calendar. So if you are a senior or a parent of a senior look for the graduation sheet out on the welcome table in the foyer this coming Sunday it will explain everything you will need to do!
4. Urban plunge: If you are in Junior high and still want to go on the Urban plunge trip you can still sign up and go! I promise you will not want to miss this. God has some amazing things He is going to do on this trip with and through you. So please contact Pastor Adam if you have any questions about going. The trip is July 9th - 14th.
5. The next 2 Sunday nights we are going to be doing our Student impact interviews. If you have turned in a application you will be recieving a text message from me to tell when your time is to interview. All the interviews will take place at CVMC, before the HS Next Class at 6pm.

Breaking free of the past lies

Hey there everyone, I hope your Thursday is going great. Mine started off awesome with sleeping in a little. The past week has been a killer with getting home around 8pm each night. Tonight we have our Maundy Thursday meal, tomorrow night we have some students coming to our house for a meal, and then Easter services.

This week is so awesome, because we get to remember what our Lord did for us on the Cross! That is what we talked about last night in moving away from the darkness and into the light. Walking away from your crappy past and moving into a great future with Christ.

I believe we have so much to learn from Moses that I am thinking this fall we are going to do a whole month on just the life of Moses. He struggled with his flaws and faults to the point where God just yelled at him GO!

I believe a lot of us are at that point of God yelling for us to GO! Leave the past behind and move into a future with Christ, yes it will hurt, yes it will be hard, yes you will lose friends over it, but in the end your life will wrapped up with what God has for you, and I promise you that is way better than any friday or Saturday night party!

God is doing some amazing things here at the CVMC youth group. We hope you can check it out next Wednesday night!

Hey there everyone, man tonight is going to stinking rock! We have so much fun stuff planned for you tonight. Our Worship time tonight is going to be powerful. I hope and I pray that you guys would come tonight to experience God in a brand new way.

Tonight we have a new game we are going to be unveiling tonight, all I know is that there is a chance where you might have to shave and arm :) Hopefully a guy will get that one. But we will see.

We are continuing with our ID theft series, that I am super pumped about tonight. Mainly because as I am studying through scripture I am getting hit with this stuff and I hope tonight God moves in your heart. That is my prayer for today.

So the details for tonight:

1. 6:30pm - Be at Crystal Valley! Listen for the bump'n Music.
2. Bring your Bible because we are going to be going over a bunch of God's word.
3. Bring a Friend or 10!

Youth Group Eve

Hey there everyone I hope things are going well for you! I know I am super tired and not liking this weather to much, but still summer is coming and nicer weather is on its way! So get excited :)

Another thing to get excited about it youth group tomorrow night. We have some awesome things we are going to talk about tomorrow night. God has some massively awesome things that He wants to do tomorrow night in breaking down lies that we believe.

Tomorrow night at 6:30pm be here at Crystal Valley, bring a friend, and come and hang out with us. We have so many awesome things planned for tomorrow night that you might lose your stinking mind!

The start of Holy week.

Hey there everyone, I hope things are going well for ya today. I know for me this week is a great week, but an extremely busy one.

This week I am reminded that we are bought with a price. We aren't our own, and we need to understand that our lives have a calling on them and we have been commissioned to spread the good news of Christ to everyone we come into contact with.

I believe the best way to spread the word of God is to first to have a relationship with Christ. We can't tell people about God until we have experienced Him and His perfect love.

This Wednesday we are going to talking about lies that we believe about our identity. Our common enemy tries to tell you a ton of lies and tries to get you to believe them. One lie that we have a real issue with is believing that our past controls our future. We can't forget that even thought we might have screwed up in the past, the doesn't mean the future needs to be the same. Christ died for you! We are complete in Christ.

Epicness of the greatest magnitude

Hey there everyone! I hope things are well for you today. I know this morning we got our taxes back and we are getting money back!!!!! YAHOO! Lets put it this way, even though we are only getting like 200 bucks, 2 years ago I had to pay 8,000 dollars, last year we had to pay 1500 dollars. So you can understand why today is a great day :)

Anyways here are a couple things you need to be aware of tonight:

1. We are having a pizza party tonight, so if you have to come late because of a practice or you need to run home real fast to eat, well we have you covered so come tonight hungry because we will have some great food, and hang out time for ya!
2. Tonights worship time is going to be powerful! God has some great things in store for us tonight.
3. If you have urban plunge or Student impact applications they need to be turned in tonight. If you still want to go on Urban Plunge and don't have all the form filled out that is fine but please talk with us tonight because we have meeting coming up!

Prison and strongholds

Hey there everyone, I hope today is a great day for you. I know for me I have soccer practice tonight as we are getting ready for our season opener soon. Then tonight I am hitting the gym to work off my fat :)

So tomorrow night we are kicking off our final push towards summer, can you believe that summer is just around the river bend? (Sorry Pocahontas reference there) I can't believe that we only have a couple weeks left until we break from summer. Just insane!

Well tomorrow night is going to be pretty stinking awesome, We are having a massive pizza party to celebrate the joys of Caleb Morris hitting the impossible shot bucket! Then we have some awesome worship, and then we kick off a new series tomorrow night called "Identity theft"

I promise you wont want to miss out!

I honestly believe that God has some awesome things in store for tomorrow night. So come ready to have a ton of fun, and to learn some cool things about who Christ wants you to be.

A couple things to be aware of......

A couple things for all students and Parents to be aware of......

1. This Sunday night from 6pm - 7pm we are having our first Junior High Urban Plunge meeting, It will be here at the campus of Crystal Valley. If your Junior High student has interest in going on this trip they should try to be here for this meeting. This doesn't commit you to the trip, but gives you a good idea of what we are going to do. We hope to see you this Sunday night.

2. Student Impact applications are due this Wednesday night. The Adult Volunteers will be talking this Sunday to discuss the way we will be interviewing the candidates, but the dates that we are interviewing students are May 1st, and May 8th. We will contact you with the time to come in and be interviewed.

Spring break blues

Hey there everyone, welcome back from spring break. I hope you all had a great time wherever you went, or if you stayed here I hope you got some rest and caught up on somethings that you might have pushed off, like playing Xbox or seeing if you could text over 2000 texts in a day. You know those those things that get pushed off to the side during the school year :)

Anyways, this coming Wednesday night we are kicking off our final push towards summer. I am super pumped to see you all again, and thanks to Caleb Morris we are having a PIZZA PARTY this Wednesday night. We are going to use this time to stuff our faces with pizza and hang out and tell awesome spring break stories. So don't miss out this coming Wednesday night.

Also this coming Wednesday we are going to be kicking off our "Identity Series" it is going to be awesome. We are going to be talking about strong holds in our lives, and how important it is to recognize those. I know for me since I have been studying this subject God has been just kicking me in the teeth about how much I need to realign my life with His purpose and calling on my life. So I hope He does the same for you this Wednesday night, or at least gets you thinking about the strong holds that might hold you back from knowing God more.

Spring break Devotional

Hey there everyone, I understand that a ton of you are away with friends. Hanging on a beach soaking up the sun, and having a relaxing time. I love it when students can get away and have a break from their normal routine, but there is a danger in relaxing from everything.

Spring break is a BREAK from school, not from your relationship with JESUS!

Please take some time this week and go through this devotion at some point this week.


(You will need a Bible, something to write with, paper, and a quiet place to sit)

Read - Matthew 6:33

Reflect - When you think about silent time, do you get excited or stressed or intimidated? Think about you're wired as you consider these questions.

Answer these questions -
1. How have my silent times with God in the past impacted my relationship with Him and others?
2. What is both attractive and unattractive about spending silent time communing with God?
3. What would have to change in my life to actually spend daily time in silence with the Lord?

After you are done answering those questions get your cell phone out and get a timer or an alarm and spend 10 minutes. Spend 10 minutes alone with God. Sit with your eyes closed, and your hands open on your lap. Just sit and receive from God.
