Special Friday Edition

Hey there everyone, I hope you are all having a awesome Friday. We have a 3 day weekend wahoo!!

This is my message for today.

The youth group is growing a ton, and we have a ton of things going on this summer. So please be praying for our youth group. We need God more and more and more, and we are asking for students and parents to be praying for this youth ministry. God has shown up a bunch these past couple Wednesday nights, but we have so many things that we are doing with students that our leaders are very tired. So please keep praying for our Wednesday night program, and for our leaders.

We need your prayers!

Also don't forget about June 6th and the pancake and sausage breakfast! See you at 8am!

Pinto Bean

Hey there everyone! I hope you are all having a stinking awesome day so far. My day started off early with a meeting at the Essenhaus for some breakfast with some awesome students who are helping me put together a High school drive in. Its going to be stinking awesome

So High school students, June 11th, at 9:00pm we are going to be having a drive in here at CVMC, we are going to be watching How to save a life, which is just an awesome movie, so come out that night bring a friend and sit and watch the movie just like a real drive in. Its going to be amazing. We will have popcorn and cookies, and some drinks out there for people to enjoy. This is only for high school students only. Sorry Junior high kids! IF you don't have a car thats cool, we have a place right up front for those who want to sit in a lawn chair and watch the movie too, so have your parents drop you off and come and hang out for a little bit.

Also parents if you want to come and help us that night as volunteers please email me at cvmcadam@verizon.net We will have a ton of students out here that night and we will need some assistance with parking, food, and crowd control. So I hope to see you here that night.

Alright, last night was stinking awesome. I love when I can just share my heart with you guys about stuff that really hits home. I hope you guys have pinto beans in your shoes today to remind you of your strong holds in your life. Hopefully you will see that enough wear and tear on the pinto bean that the bean will break, just like if you let God work on your life the strong holds will break apart and you are set free!

I am excited to see what God is going to do this summer through our trips and our time together! I hope to see you all next week as we honor our seniors!

Invisible fences

This is the title for my message on Wednesday night, I am really excited/nervous because this is a hard message for me to talk about because it deals a lot with my past and how God has moved me through some fences and strong holds in my life that have taken a long time to deal with but also am still dealing with.

God is doing something in my life that I want to share with others, and hopefully work with other people to continue to break down strong holds in others lives.

We are going to be talking about 2 Cor 10:3-4, and a bunch of other scripture but that is going to be our foundation, so if you can make it this Wednesday night that would rock, but if you can't make it we will miss you!

For those who know you are coming please be praying for this Wednesday it's gonna get tense for some people but I am ok with that. So I hope you can make it and be challenged.

Also we are going to be finishing up our Movie Trivia game, we have a new game we are going to try which is going to be awesome! Then we have a really interesting powerpoint game we are going to dominate. I hope to see you here.

Behold the lamb of God

Hey there everyone, I hope things are going well for you today, I know for me I am extremely busy with lots of awesome events for this summer. So please keep it tuned to right here for all the dates for the summer.

Lets talk a little bit about last night. God showed up and moved in our students. We had students decide to follow Christ for the first time, we also had students decide that they are going to point to Jesus instead of other things in their lives. It was a great night last night where students got to experience Christ in a real and tangible way.

We talked about John 1 and how John the baptist, told 2 of his disciples "Behold the lamb of God" and we talked about how Jesus fulfilled that role.

Then after we talked about what the lamb was in the old testament, and how are lives need to point to Jesus. After that we took communion, it was really fun to teach students about communion and participate with them.

Keep praying for our students and our leaders, our leaders are really busy and tired, they have put in countless hours with students. Please lift hem up in your prayers this week!

Hope to see you Sunday for the Baptism and Cook out!

You gotta tell someone!

Hey there everyone! I hope your week is stinking awesome. I know my week is full and crazy but still excited for Wednesday night!

So last night we had a 6th grade parents meeting, and I hope that they had a great time, and also we want to welcome them to the blogspot, so for those new 6th grade parents reading this for the first time, Welcome, if I could have people clapping on here for you I would but I am not that much of a geek :)

So this coming Wednesday night we are going to be continuing in our series called Practical atheist, meaning where we say we are a Christian but yet live like there is no God. The first week we talked about Prayer, and how we need to start a conversation with God! Last week we broke down what it means to follow Christ and what it means to be an atheist. This week we are going to be talking about telling people your story. I am so excited for this week because we get the chance to tell stories about Jesus working in lives, its going to be awesome!

I hope you can come this wednesday night to youth group! It starts at 6:30 and goes till 8:30!

Special Friday Post

Hey there everyone, sorry I didn't get to update yesterday my day was full of a bunch of different things going on! So I am updating now while I am working on some emails.

So Wednesday night was an awesome night, we broke down what it meant to live a life as a Christ follower, and then what it meant to live a life as an atheist. We wrote them down on a white board and talked about how when we live our lives demanding an explanation. Meaning, if someone was to look at your life would they have to ask why you did certain things because they just don't make sense to people because you are living a life following after Jesus or would they not have to ask because you are living just like everyone else.

We finished up the message portion with a passage from Matthew 13 where a man finds a treasure in a field and he goes back home and gives everything away to get that field, I asked this question to the students. Is God a nice thought in your head or is He the treasure that you are seeking?

We had a time of prayer at the end of the service where student could pray with leaders and a time where they could get a lone with God! It was a pretty powerful night.

I hope you guys have a great weekend, I know I will, I am playing a golf scramble with the Edlunds and we are going to dominate this coming Saturday morning!

Talk with you all Later!
