Worship Experience

Hey there everyone! I hope you are having a great memorial day. I know for me I got to golf this morning, and then I am spending sometime with my family tonight. So I know my memorial day is great.

This Wednesday night we are going to be having a worship experience. I am super pumped to have a time where we are all spending most of the night experiencing different aspects of who Christ is. We are going to talk through the Joy part of our relationship with Christ (remember to write 5 things you are thankful for) then we are going talk about what it means to have a relationship with God and how worship can enhance that relationship. Then we are going to have some stations people can go to and do a couple different things to worship Christ. These are like any stations you have seen before, we have duct tape, nails, nets and much more for you to check out this Wednesday night.

So come this Wednesday night, I promise you won't want to miss out on what God is going to do.
This is our 2nd to last night for youth until the summer. So come and hang out with us, we are going to have tons of fun!

We hope to see you here.

Oh Also we have a super fun game we are going play! So make sure you are here @ 6:30pm

I quit Comparing

Hey there everyone, I hope you had a great night last night at youth group. I tell you what that was a ton of fun, I love being able to worship with you guys, have a ton of fun with you guys and then be able to encourage you with some Scriptures about not comparing ourselves to others. I really really hope that we can watch how much we compare ourselves to others and how many times we put others down. Work hard at striving after Christ. God has some amazing things in store for our youth group, but more importantly for you personally if you quit comparing yourselves to others, and start striving after Christ. Amazing things can happen!

I just want to continue to tell you about June 10th -11th with our Hello Summer event. Last night we showed you some faces of the students we will be helping over seas. Next week we are having someone who has worked with human traffickers coming and telling her story! Guys I can't push this enough, I think we need to get behind this cause because its such a powerful one!

Go out and hit the streets or ask friends and families to support you to fast for 30 hours! Its super easy! We can make a difference in so many people's lives. So I am challenging each and everyone of you to go and raise 50$ If our youth group does that we can easily raise over $6000.

I think we can do it! Do Work Big Dawgs!

Powerful storms

Hey there everyone, I hope you having a great day! I know my day is filled with finishing up the final details for tonight, with printing, video editing, and much more. But I was stopped in my tracks by these powerful storms rolling through our area. Our God is a God of Power! So insane to me. I love that I get to serve a God who can make the thunder makes the walls shake, and scare the crap out of me when its the cracking thunder that you are not ready for.

Tonight at 6:30 we are going to have a ton of fun tonight. I hope you guys can join us to worship the God who creates massive storms, and can create insanely intimate worship experiences!

We are finishing up our "I quit" Series tonight. So come and discuss with us some great ways to stop comparing ourselves to others.

Hope to see you here tonight!

Living a life of fear

Hey there everyone, I hope your day is going well. I know mine is going well I am super busy today getting things ready for this Friday night for our Movie night, starts at 8pm, and then for our really insane busy day on Sunday with like 10 different things going on. The great thing is I love that our church has so many awesome things for our students to be a part of.

Last night was awesome, as I was reading over some of the things you guys were putting on the cross last night, man I was super proud of you guys for digging deep and really taking time to have a reality check about fear.

God is doing some awesome work in our students lives, and I super pumped about what He is going to do in these next couple weeks.

Here are some things that are coming up that you can be a part of.

1. This Friday night we are having a movie night at the church starts at 8pm, We are watching Tangled, and we will provide the popcorn. You guys can bring any other snacks you want! Also we are asking you guys to bring couches, bean bags, anything that will make this night comfy for you guys to watch this movie. I was asked if we could fit a car in the doors so they could watch it in their cars, and I said no but it would be fun to try. So this Friday 8pm!

2. Sunday night Doug Edlund is taking students to the Faith Mission in Elkhart to help serve 2 meals. We are leaving at 4pm from the church so if you guys want to go please get a hold of doug. Also they have asked us to bring cereal because they are low on cereal and we want to be able to give them as much cereal as we can. So if you are coming Friday night you can drop off a box of cereal.

3. June 10th-11th we are going to be doing a 30 hour famine to raise money and awareness about human trafficking. This event cost 20$ because we are going to be taking everyone over to Paiges crossing which has go karts, putt putt, arcade, driving range, and lots more. We are going to have so much stinking fun while we are there your head might explode. When we get back we are going to be making cardboard city, where you will have the opportunity to build a cardboard house and sleep in it that night, the next morning we are going to be getting up and heading over for another service project before coming back to Sugar Grove where we will break the fast with a meal. Going to be super fun!

So what we need our students to do is to start raising money for this event. We have handed out the last 2 weeks sheets with all the information about the event and why we are raising money, if you student hasn't brought that home please see Pastor Adam on Sunday and we can get you a sheet.

Hope you guys have a great day! if you have any questions about any of the events coming up please email Pastor Adam at cvmcadam@gmail.com

Monday Monday

Hey there everyone I hope you are having a lovely day so far. I know my day has started off with an early meeting followed by some prayer time with the staff and now I am putting together the small group questions and email our awesome staff! I absolutely love working with students and adults who love working with students. So here are a couple things you need to be aware of for this coming Wednesday night.

1. We are still doing our tiny hands fundraiser on June 10th - 11th. So we have the sheets to hand out so you can start raising money for the tiny hands missionary we are going to support named Jon Andrews. If we can raise over 6000 dollars we can build a safe house and staff it for an entire year! So lets get out there and get support everyone.

2. We are still handing out life books to people, if you want to take some this coming Wednesday you are more then welcome too. We are wanting to hand out all of the books we have! I think we can do it. We need to get excited about getting the Word of God in peoples hands, especially because the way they have designed this book, it works perfectly for those in Junior high and High school!

3. This coming Friday night we are having a movie night here at the church! We will be showing a sweet movie that I will announce tomorrow on this blog, This is a Bring your own couch event! We are going to open up the sanctuary so you can bring you own couch, bean bags, reclining chair, anything you want to sit on. Also you can bring your own snacks and drinks! We will provide popcorn. So bring whatever and whomever you would like to this movie event. It starts at 8pm and will be over by 10pm. Hope to see you here

Such a fun night last night

Hey there everyone, I hope things are going well for you on this Thursday. I know I wicked tired from last night, because last night was so stinking fun!

We talked about complaining last night and we gave a 2 fold challenge.

1. Memorize Philippians 2:14 for next week.
2. When you catch yourself complaining just stop talking and see how little you talk during the day.

It's a pretty intense challenge. So I hope those who were there last night had a great time and was challenged to do some great things for God through the life book, Tiny hands, and through baptism.

This post will be a little bit shorter because I have a bunch of things to finish up today! So I hope to see you guys Sunday and next Wednesday.

If you want more information on what the lifebook is all about check out this website. http://thelifebook.com/index.php This past week we handed out books to all the students that were at youth group, and we challenged them to read it over this week because we don't want them handing things out that they hadn't read or could get behind. So if you are looking for a life book to read we have them available at youth group on Wednesday nights. We are excited to start handing these books out, it also helps that we are in a competition with Sugar Grove church to see who can pass out the most life books! So lets go CVMC!

Hello Summer - June 10th - 11th we are doing a over night youth event, where we are going to raise money for Jon Andrews who is a missionary for Tiny Hands international who help stop human trafficking. Little Blogging break

Hey there everyone, Sorry I was on a little blogging break this past week. I was gone in Michigan for 2 days, and then was planning and prepping things all week for this summer and fall.

So this week we are continuing on with this message series I Quit. This coming Wednesday night we are going to be talking about complaining. So many times we find ourselves complaining a ton but do we realize how it affects our relationship with Christ?

We are going to go through the bible and look at sometimes where people have complained about what God was taking them through and the consequences that take place when they complain.

So this coming Wednesday night come on out to CVMC for youth group, we only have a couple left before we break for the summer! So don't miss out on these times to hang out with everyone and worship.

I believe God has some pretty awesome things planned for us this Wednesday night, so I think you should come on out and check it out!

We have so many awesome things coming up this summer that you will not want to miss tomorrow's post because we will outline some cool initiatives for this summer.

Have a great day everyone.

Big Stinking announcement

Hey there everyone, every year we do an event called "Hello Summer" Its normally a all nighter, and we just go and have a tons of fun, well this time we are going to be adding an element to this night.

This year on June 10th -11th we are going to be doing a 30 hour famine with our Hello Summer event. We are going to be raising money for our Missionary Friend JON ANDREWS who is in the thick of sex trafficking and works with an organization called Tiny Hands International. He is going full time and so we want to support him and the cause he is helping with.

So Next Week we are going to explain all the details to you, but just so you know this is what that event will look like.

Your last meal will be Friday morning Breakfast, we will meet around 2 in the afternoon and we will have some fun things planned for you.

Then we will be going to a place called Paiges crossing in Colombia City. It has Go karts, putt putt, arcade, and a ton more. Its going to be super fun.

We will come back from that and you will sleep at the church that night.

The next morning we will wake up and we have a service project we will be doing with another organization, and then we will eat lunch all together around noon on Saturday.

You guys will go out and raise money for Jon, People can donate a set amount to your cause, or can sponsor you per hour. Its whatever they want. So next week we will hand out all the papers you will need to go and get signatures and money donated.

This is one of the things we planned up at the Big Chill with all of you, one thing every one wanted to was Help Jon Andrews and raise money for Sex Trafficking. I think this is a great way to help out a ton of people all over the world.

I think we can raise a couple thousand dollars for Jon and Tiny Hands.

Can't wait to see you Next Wednesday!
