Hey there everyone I have a ton of info to get out to ya'll! So lets get started!

1. This Sunday night the High school Next Class is going to a worship concert at Jefferson Brethern church on SR 15. The concert starts at 7:30, so a little bit later then we normally start, we are meeting there at 7:15 as a group and then we can walk in and sit together. There won't be to many people there my guess maybe 20ish at best so it will be a cool time to just worship and be with God!

2. Our Junior High Missions trip is going down July 5th - 9th. We can only take up to 20 people total including sponsors so really we can only take 15 students. So if you are interested in going on this Junior High missions trip please talk to me. We are going to be heading to Dayton, OH and doing a program called Urban plunge. We will be going to the downtown part of Dayton and doing ministry down there with children, other teens, and the homeless. The cost is 125$ for everything, transpo, food, and lodging. All the 8th graders from this year can still go on this trip.

3. The Relationship Series is starting this coming week, and I am so excited about it. This is a series that can have some series impact on your dating life and I hope that if you are dating someone bring them. If you are thinking about dating a special someone, bring them! We are going to culminating our relationship series with a special night where Parents, and students will come together on Feb 24th, to take place in a Purity Ceremony. This is going to be an amazing time where families can commit themselves to pure relationships, and saving themselves sexually till marriage. Parents this night you wont want to miss! We are asking everyone who comes to bring a dessert to share! Again thats Feb 24th, 6:30 - 8:30! Don't miss this chance to talk with your students about their relationships!

4. We need prayer! Our youth ministry is growing like crazy and we need your prayers for our youth staff, and for your youth pastor. There are some amazing things going on but we are being stretched very thin. So those parents who might have an interest in helping students grow closer to Christ please pray about becoming a volunteer and helping us with our ever growing youth ministry! Hey there everyone! I hope you all had an amazing night of slumber. But Welcome to the day that could change your life. Its up to you!

So tonight we are going to talking about Love. And we are going to be diving into how do you Love God, and how do we love others. And both of those questions are just packed with some crazy awesome stuff, and they are packed with some really hard challenges I believe you and I need to look at. Also tonight we will be rocking out to some worship, and there is a pretty awesome announcement tonight!

We have a couple new games we are going to be playing tonight, all I can say for you tonight is to come Hungry and get ready to "Chow Down"!

Hey there everyone, I hope your days are going swimmingly!

I just wanted to drop some knowledge on ya about this coming Wednesday night. We are going to wrapping up our Faith,hope and love series. I am so pumped about this Wednesday night because we have some sweet things planned out for ya'll!

Finale: Faith,Hope, and love

So this coming Wednesday we are going to be diving into "LOVE" One of the greatest things that we can experience for God, and from another person. So we are actually going to be breaking up the talk into 2 parts! which will be for a fun night, we will be have 2, 15 min talks on how to love God, and then how to love others! Which will lead to a really fun announcement! So make sure you are here for this coming Wednesday.

Also we are playing 2 new games that we have never played! One of them has a lot of "Flying" going on! So make sure you come to experience that!

Also I hope that you guys are still praying for the youth group, also continue to bring your paper that you should be bringing :) I hope you know what I am talking about.

Here are somethings to be praying for!
1. That the Youth Group would know how to live out 1 Peter 1:22.
2. That God would bring in more leaders to the youth group.
3. That we can be united as one as a youth group!

Saturday Edition!

Hey there everyone! I hope that you guys are having an awesome day, I know I am having a great day, we won both our soccer games, pretty sure I am going to the basketball game tonight, and then I am takings some students to IHOP tonight for all you can eat pancakes! I am so excited!

I wanted to drop you guys a line today, and let you know that tomorrow is going to be awesome at church! Because tomorrow we get the opportunity to come together and worship God, we get to wake up drive our cars, get some coffee and then get crazy for God!

I want to invite you tomorrow morning, get excited about God! Lets celebrate our God because He is worthy to be praised! I would love if our youth group tomorrow morning during church would get excited, because our God is calling us to be loud! is calling us to be a strong force, is calling is to get so pumped up because people are coming to know Christ and is coming to love Him more and more! We need to get so pumped up about that! Ladies and gentlemen of the CVMC Youth Group! I hope tomorrow morning during the 2nd service when we are all in there together that we can get crazy up in there! God is calling us to worship, and worship, so tomorrow lets REALLY worship :)

So this morning I spent time at the district with some awesome youth pastors in the area, and there are some amazing things are going to be coming down the pipe!

There is one thing that I am truly excited about its called McOne day- It stands for Missionary Church One Day. This is where all of the missionary church youth groups are getting together on one day to do work projects, help people out, and do all sorts of awesome things for their communities. So this is where you guys as the Youth Group come in! We need some idea's to do around middlebury. We will be working from Noon - 5 doing something, I want to get you guys involved on the ground level with this! Then after we are all done doing our work project we are heading over to Prairie Camp to have a celebration service with everyone!

It will be a really cool thing so mark your calendars now for May 1st! We will be having some really cool things to do that day!

Hope, God, and CVMC

Hey there guys! man last night was fun, Blindfolded musical chairs, Alphabet soup game! Also a good time on the game front, Introduced a newer song for us called "Tear down the walls" by Hillsong united. It was awesome worshiping with you guys last night. Then getting to talk about how their is hope for haiti and how many amazing stories are coming out about people who were being rescued, and how they held on for so many days.

Bottom line from last night was that when we put our hope in Jesus Christ we are placing our hope in something so much bigger then ourselves. I can't wait to see our Lord Jesus, I can't wait to look at His face and cry out in worship, I can't wait to stand there with all the others who went before me! That is something to put our hope into!

We had a great conversation in my small group last night with those 8th & 9th grade guys! Some really good thought patterns, and some hardcore truths coming out about who God is, and how they view God. Good stuff that I can't wait to build on.

This coming week we are going to be talking about "Love" and how we can love others, and loving God. I hope that you guys have been keeping up with the unity aspect of our youth group. But for those who are praying for the youth group here are some things to be praying for.
1. For some more leaders to step up and into the ministry
2. For students to take ownership of the youth group.
3. For us to encounter God each and every time we meet together!

Ready to pounce!

Hey there everyone, hope you are all having a glorious day so far. It was interesting, last night I was checking the weather for today and they were calling for freezing fog! I have lived here most of my life, and I have heard of fog, and I have heard of freezing rain, but freezing fog! Thats a new one for me. Kinda funny but makes things really slick so be careful out there this morning on the roads!

Anyways tomorrow night we are going to be continuing with our series on Faith, Hope and Love! And tomorrow night we are talking about Hope. Its amazing to me how difficult this topic is to discuss with people, and when prepping for this message, it was kind of a depressing issue. So people I talk to have no hope for anything. They have no job, kids are off the deep end, they have no money, they hate life, and so on. Then I talked with some people who did have hope but its so puny, its like their hope can be met with like going to a concert, or going on a vacation, or going somewhere but they are coming back to the same place! Is that hope? Going somewhere and then returning to the same place? We are going to be talking about Hope tomorrow night, and I promise you it will be an eye opener for ya if you come ready to encounter God!

We have got some fun games we are going to be playing tomorrow so come and laugh at people, and have a good laugh with some funny video's, but also come ready to experience God, I still hope you are praying for the youth group!

Here are somethings for you to keep praying about!
1. That students, and leaders would have an unquenchable passion to connect with Jesus!

Martin luther King day

Hey there guys! Hope you all had an amazing weekend, I know my weekend seemed really short with all the things we had to get done, but alas it is Monday once again!

This morning I woke up and in the shower I have started listening to NPR mainly because it catches me up politics, and world events I might other wise miss because I am mostly fixated on what teens are into, but this morning they were talking about how it is Martin Luther King day, and even in 2010 there is still a lot of racial tension. That got me thinking about how back just a couple decades ago African Americans couldn't vote, got to the same schools as white students, couldn't drink out of the same water fountain, a bunch of stupid things like that. They were talking to some high school students about this and how they say its not to different today, yeah everyone is at the same school, but look around the lunch area and you will see its not that integrated still.

So my question to my Crystal Valley students, as we are talking about Unity this month and how we need to come together as one to fight against one common enemy, and also worship and follow Jesus Christ. Are you ready to be called to love anyone and everyone even if they don't look like us? I know Jesus came down from Heaven and loved all of us, so again I invite our youth group to take a stand today and say it doesn't matter what color you are Jesus Christ died for you and you are loved!

To the Parents!

Hey there Parents, this blog post is for you!

On Feb 24th we are having our 3rd Annual Purity Ceremony. This year its going to look a little bit different. This year we aren't getting anything for the students to wear or to have. We are encouraging you as a parent if your student doesn't have a purity Ring or a necklace that represents a commitment to Purity we recommend you first sitting down and talking with them about what it means to be pure and save yourself for marriage. Fathers this can be such an amazing time with your daughter to sit down and bless your daughter. For those who have sons, it would be awesome for Mom and Dad to sit down with them at 2 different times and talk about what it means to be a man in a relationship. Mom can explain for them Women side and the Dad can talk about the mans side, obviously, but make it a point to make it special. Don't be lax on this because it is a serious time in your students life.

That night we are asking all parents come to youth group that night, we are also asking everyone who attends bring a dessert to share because afterwards we would like to have a social time where we can have some fun and eat some delicious food.

So Parents please mark down on your calendars for Feb 24th as a night to spend with your student here at youth group. Also Parents if you student is dating someone I would highly recommend them coming together and being here for the whole month of February and March. Because February we are talking about Purity and March we are talking about Actual Dating and things you need to know before you date.

So please partner with us and lets make this Purity Ceremony a time in the students life and your families life that you will never forget!

Kapow!

Hey there everyone! So I have to tell you a funny story that happened to me yesterday!

So I had to head into Elkhart to drop something off, and I was heading there I started to get a bad headache, so I thought to myself self "We need to head home after this to lay down and rest for like and hour" So I dropped off the check said hi to a few people, and then left. On my way home I had some major hunger pains so I thought to myself self "we are close to the Jimmy Johns, we should devour a number 9 with hot peppers" So I drove my head ridden body to Jimmy Johns. Then as I was eating this delicious number 9 with Hot peppers, I realized my stomach was getting a little upset from eat a number 9 with hot peppers. As I drove further down the road my stomach started turning on me and revolting against the number 9 with hot peppers. So as I am driving down Cr 18 I had to stop a couple times because I thought I was going to Ralph and I didn't want to Ralph in my car because thats nasty. but as I stop and get out of my car these amish kids are looking at me like I am crazy, like scared out of their minds. So as they stare at me I think to myself this would be really funny if I yelled really loud and went crazy. So When I knew I wasnt going to through up I looked at them and I raised my hands in the air and yelled really loud and shook my whole body and laid on the hood of my car. They freaked out and rain inside, ohh man I had a good laugh over that. So the moral of the story is eating a number 9 with hot peppers with a headache will make you do some crazy things!

Pure Awesomeness!

Hey there everyone! I hope you guys had an awesome night here at youth group!

IPod Idol was a hit, I loved hearing people sing when they can't hear themselves! Always a fun time! I was really pumped about our dance party last night we had during worship! That was a blast dancing for the lord!

I hope you all had a good time learning about faith and how to grow your faith! Here are the main points from last night!
1. Faith is Faith, not Fact
2. Faith is Risky
3. Faith needs to be fueled
4. Faith sometimes need to die to be reborn

Next week we are going to be talking about "hope" and the hope we have in the Lord, and how when things get really crazy around us, we have hope that one day that our Lord is going to come back to get us! I love having that hope!

Next week we will be talking about Big chill a little bit more! Please we still have room and time to sign up for the Big Chill if you want to go we have room! So please get ahold of me! Remember 50 dollars deposit is due on Feb 1! So don't forget that!

So come prepared for tonight, also you need to bring the thing we gave you last week!

Monday Monday

Howdy everyone! I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I know I spent my Friday night watching a movie and hanging out with my wife, and then spent Saturday coaching and watching my Cowboys dominate the Eagles with Raliegh and Bean, and then spent most of the day in bed coughing and feeling horrible so I had a good start to the weekend and a horrible ending :)

Anyways this coming wednesday night we have got some amazing things going down! We are going to be continuing on our series called Faith, Hope, and Love! So make sure that this coming Wednesday you bring your Bible, and a notebook so you can take some notes and take them home with you to remind you about stuff through out the week.

We are going to be talking about Faith this week, and not just faith in a god, but Faith in thee God who created everything, who died for us, who rose again in 3 days and conquered death! We are going to be talking about Faith that will never surrender, that will never cease but when faced with hard times it will rise up and make us stronger as a body of believers! Wahoo Man I am pumped!

So come this Wednesday night at 6:30 to hang out and have some wicked awesome fun!

Saturday morning blog

So normally on Saturday mornings I am still sleeping right now but we have a puppy and I am sick so I am up and reading the bible, and listening to some music. I wanted to up date you on whats going on for this coming Wednesday!

This Wednesday we are going to be talking about the first thing in 1 Cor 13:13 and that is faith! I am so excited about getting to study more about faith and having a good discussion with you guys on Wednesday night. So I have some questions for ya

1. When you hear the word Faith what do you think of?
2. How would you describe faith?

Just the word faith, not faith in God, faith in Gravity, faith in the cowboys. Just Faith.

Also for those who didn't know American Idol starts this Tuesday and I am excited! So this Wednesday we have an amazing game we are going to be playing that incorporates American Idol and You! Its going to be awesome so get ready to "Rock out" :)

Also remember to be praying for our youth group everyday for the next 3 weeks! Also remember to bring your unity paper. Here are some things to be praying for the youth group.

1. For Gods spirit to move on Wednesday nights, Sunday morning and night!
2. For your small group leaders!
3. For the youth group to come together as one!

Day 2 of Prayer for the Youth Group

Hey there everyone welcome to Friday I am glad we all made it :)

So as I was praying this morning and reading my bible this verse came to my mind.

Eph 4:12-13
Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ.

I pray this for our youth group that we can get close to Christ so that we can equip others to get closer to Christ and to build up the church and love others!

So here are somethings to pray for the youth group today:
1. Pray for our common goal of getting closer to Christ each time we get together!
2. Pray for some more leaders to step up and start helping out with the youth group.
3. Pray for students who don't know Christ that we might be able to start relationships with them!

Unity!

So last night was one of those great youth group nights where you can always look back and say "man do you remember that one night where God really showed up" That was last night at the CVMC youth group. God showed up and is starting to bring our youth group together as 1.

Last night we committed to fight together, live together, love together, cry together, have tons of fun together, but most importantly run as fast as we can to Christ together. We set a goal last night that every single Wednesday night we walk out a little bit different then when we walked in. We will hopefully be a little bit closer to Christ!

We gave a challenge to the students to take a piece of paper that said unity on it, and for the next 25 days pray for the youth group, and bring that piece of paper to youth group symbolizing that we are united and we are thinking of each other.

So for those students who are wanting to pray for the youth group here are some ideas:
1. Pray for an awakening of the Holy Spirit in our youth group!
2. Pray for your small group leader.
3. Pray for students you might want to invite to youth group. Pray that God will give you favor with them when you talk with them about Youth Group stuff.

Start with those and lets get this started! God wants to explode this youth group into a revival and I believe it can happen but it all starts with prayer, and sacrifice!

I am excited to see where God takes this!

So tonight is our first night back to normal youth group in over a month! We have had snow storms, Christmas break, 3dyc, and a New year has all happened since we have met on a Wednesday night. Wow! We have a lot to catch up on tonight!

So tonight we have some special things we are doing! We have the 3dyc highlight video, we have a birthday to celebrate tonight, we have 2 new games tonight, and we have a new series to kick off tonight where we are going to be dissecting 1st Corinthians 13! Man I am pumped.

So come tonight at 6:30 - 8:30 and come and have a blast tonight! I am so excited to see you all tonight, I am praying that tonight will be a powerful powerful night for some of us! I honestly believe that God wants to meet with you and have an encounter with you! God wants to move in your heart soul and mind! To God be the Glory!

Youth Group Eve

Hey there everyone! Tomorrow night is when it is all going down. We kick off 2010, we kick off our new series called "Faith, Hope and Love", and we kick off someone from the youth group :) Just kidding.

Tomorrow night we will be playing 2 new games, we have some awesome worship planned, some funny video's planned, and the 3dyc Highlight video! Man tomorrow night is packed with goodness getting served up on a delicious platter with a side of Andrew Edlunds birthday! Man Youth Group tomorrow might be one of the greatest we have ever had!

One thing that we are wanting to do in 2010, is step up our game again! During 3dyc a lot of us leaders shared our hearts with you guys about getting passionate about serving God, worship God, and loving one another. We want that passion that we had on that Tuesday night to carry over to tomorrow night and every Wednesday night to come in the future. You men and women that were there that night need to step up and become leaders. Tomorrow night we are going to be talking about unity and how if we aren't unified then faith, hope or love doesn't matter. Because we aren't working towards the same goal. We need to be pressing towards the goal together! God has some amazing things He wants to do in our lives, and in our Youth Group! So lets step up, lets make 2010 Wednesday nights the best they can be! You guys are the ones that can make it amazing, the leaders and I can only help guide and direct.

We can do this! Can't wait to see you tomorrow night!

A New Year!

Hey there everyone I hope you are all having an amazing day! There has been some amazing things going on inside this youth group! God is moving and changing lives, at 3dyc this year God showed up and shook the cvmc youth group to the core. God is alive and He is alive in our students.

Now this coming Wednesday night we are going to be start a new series which is called "Faith, hope and Love" and we are going to be talking about how as ONE we can do some many amazing things! 1st Corinthians 13 is going to be our back drop for this series and we are going to explore what it means to be ONE Youth group, fighting for one another, and helping each other out when people fall. God has some amazing things that He wants to do inside this youth group and inside so many of our students.

So this Wednesday night we are going to be kicking off this new series with a bang, also we will be showing the 3dyc highlight slide show! So come ready to see some awesome Pictures. We hope to see you there this Wednesday night! We also have a pretty "DELICIOUS" surprise for you :)
